Master's Programmes Admissions 2020

Admission Procedure:

In the current academic year, due to an unprecedented COVID-19 situation, admission is offered based on an online interview only.

Programme Selection Procedure
M. Sc. (Mathematics / Physics):

All candidates have to appear for an interview. A common merit list will be prepared based on their performances in the interview.

M. Tech. (CSE/ ECE) and MS (CSE/ ECE/ CCE):

All the GATE qualified (in the respective subject) candidates will be exempted from the written test. There will be two separate merit lists for various categories of candidates as described below.

Category 1. Candidate securing more than 95 percentile and having a B. Tech. degree in the concerned subject will also be exempted from the interview. A separate merit list will be prepared for them solely based on their GATE score. They will be eligible for direct admission and they will be preferred over the other category of candidates for admission.

Category 2. Merit list of candidates with GATE score <95 percentile and having a B. Tech. degree in the concerned subject will be prepared based on their performances in the interview only.

Category 3. Non-GATE qualified candidates having a B. Tech. degree in the concerned subject will have to appear for both the written test and the interview. The written test will be a qualifier for them and candidates must score at least 50% marks in the written test to be qualified for an interview-based merit list.

Category 4. Candidates from other relevant disciplines having a valid GATE score in the subject they are seeking admission will only be considered. Since they are qualified in the GATE exam they will be exempted from the written test. However, irrespective of their GATE score, they have to appear for the interview and their selection will be based on their performance in the interview only.

A common merit list of Category 2, 3, and 4 candidates combined will be prepared based on their performances in the interview only.

In the current academic year, due to an unprecedented COVID-19 situation, candidates will be exempted from the written test and the interview will be conducted online.
